🎓 New Student Orientation at Richard Bland College
Welcome to Richard Bland College!New Student Orientation is your first big step into college life—and we’ve designed the day to help you feel confident, supported, and ready for success. You’ll get the information you need, meet the people who will be there to help, and take care of important tasks before classes begin.
💡 What to Expect:
During orientation, you’ll connect with friendly faces from key departments and offices, including:
Financial Aid & Business Office
Residence Life & Campus Safety
Student Success & Academic Support
Dining & Campus Engagement
Disability Services & Counseling
Campus Technology
Transfer Services
And our team of student leaders, called ROL Models, who are here to guide you through the day and answer questions from a student’s perspective
You’ll learn how to navigate campus resources, stay on track academically, and get the most out of your college experience.
📅 Schedule Overview:
🕘 Early Arrival (Optional):Arrive as early as 9:00 a.m. to take care of things like your RBC account, student ID photo, or any last-minute items.
🎤 Orientation Begins at 10:30 a.m.We’ll kick things off together, then students and families will follow separate tracks to focus on the information most helpful to them.
👥 Students Will:
Visit key campus offices
Participate in group activities and student-led discussions
Learn how to use RBC tools and systems
Get to know other new students
👨👩👧 Families Will:
Hear from campus leaders and staff
Learn how to support their student
Ask questions in a relaxed Q&A session
🎉 We’ll all come back together at 12:45 p.m. for a fun wrap-up🍽 Followed by a free lunch at 1:00 p.m.📝 After lunch: You’re welcome to stay and finish up any final steps

Attending Orientation is highly encouraged to ensure you are fully prepared for the start of your journey at Richard Bland College.
Yes, family members are welcome to attend and participate in activities designed to help them understand the resources and support available to students.
We recommend arriving early, starting at 9 a.m., to take care of unfinished business like class registration paying bills or setting up your student accounts. The official program begins at 10:30 a.m.
The main Orientation program runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a free lunch at 1 p.m. You may stay after lunch to finalize any unfinished tasks.
Bring a government-issued photo ID for your student ID card, any documents you still need to submit to Financial Aid or other offices, and a pen or notebook for taking notes.
Yes, a free lunch will be served at 1 p.m. during the Orientation day.
Free parking will be available on campus. Look for signage directing you to the designated parking areas for Orientation.
Yes, the Disability Services office will be available during Orientation. Please contact us in advance if you require specific accommodations.
